Wait! Wait! We have to wait 30 days to actually taste this recipe! Let's plan a party, or should we keep them to ourselves? This recipe is simple - salted anchovies and cheap to make. Plus the nutrition is beyond good for you filled with good fats and omega 3s and loaded with protein. In this video we update you on how our vineyard called Myra's Vineyard is doing in Sicily. In September, 2023 we started a vineyard in Sicily on the property of our friends, Pioppi and Betulle Stone Cottages on Mount Etna in the "Etna DOC". At this time, Pepi, our friend and local winemaker & vintner is treating the vines for prevention of mildew. Due to a excess of rain and sun together which makes the vines prone to mildew. Important Dates: FALL, 2023 September 27, 2023 - The idea to start a Vineyard Started October 10, 2023 - Started brush cutting the 3 to 4 foot shrubs on the land October 11, 2023 - Moved in the equipment to prepare the Vineyard for tilling October 17, 2023 - Met with Salvodore, the Agronomist to pick the correct grape (Carricante White) SPRING 2024: February 3, 2024 - Started tilling the soil in preparation for planting the vines February 7, 2024 - Planted 600 vines April 7, 2024 - 600 posts arrived April 16, 2024 - Orazio is dipping the ends of the posts to keep them from rotting in the ground April 18, 2024 - The Greeks started putting in the posts April 27, 2024 - We checked out the growth of the vines - they were about 12 inches high May 18, 2024 - We started tilling up the vineyard May 19, 2024 - The same plant grew another 6 inches in 4 weeks (1st row, 4th post) FALL, 2026: In 2026, we should be able to eat a lot of grapes. FALL, 2027: In 2027, we should be able to produce somewhere between 3 - 4, 000 litres of wine. COMMON QUESTIONS: Which Grape did we plant? Carracante Bianco (White) When will we have our first grape harvest? In 2026 we expect our first grapes and 2027 we expect the first harvest big enough to make some wine. This is a maturation period of four years. E79. This is our story about an how we came to visit the Samui Elephant Sanctuary on Koh Samui, Thailand...a sort of documentary about searching for "JAMIE". These gentle retired elephants have been rescued and are residing here for the remainder of their lives. How we found them to be gentle amazing creatures and how we were able to help with a sponsorship to help feed two elephants for Hailey and Chloe, our animal loving great granddaughters in Canada. In this video we show you how we started our search for the right elephant and how in the end we had a big surprise. We met our elephant's best friend, Buo Toom, and were able to sponser her as well. These gentle creatures are rescued from a lifetime of hard work and drudgery.
